Danish firm Schulze+Grassov chosen for London’s first design district

SelgasCano, 6a Architects and David Kohn Architects are among the eight architecture studios creating buildings for a purpose-built design district at the heart of the new Greenwich Peninsula development in London.  The new one-hectare design district will provide a permanent base for over 1,800 of London’s creatives across a range of affordable architect-designed workspaces at the centre of the riverside site. The design district set within the Greenwich Peninsula scheme, which is being overseen by developer Knight Dragon, will be anchored by 16 buildings. Supertrees feature in global expo about urban nature

Grant Associates’ designs for the Supertree Grove of Singapore’s internationally acclaimed Gardens by the Bay are to feature at the Expo for Design, Innovation & Technology (EDIT) in Toronto, Canada. The Supertrees will appear in ‘The Green and the Gray’, an interactive exhibition curated by international design studio Carlo Ratti Associati that runs from 28 September to 8 October 2017. Proposals for a new 100-hectare digital park have been launched, heralding a major step forward in Thailand’s digital aspirations. Digital Park Thailand, located in the Sri Racha district of the Chonburi Province, was unveiled at The Digital Thailand Big Bang Conference 2017. The site will be aimed predominately at digital and technology industries and it is anticipated that over 58,000 people will live and work there. Three Eden project visitor centres to be created in China

LDA Design is helping to create the first of the Eden Project’s visitor centres in China. The Eden Project is embarking on developing visitor centres in the US, Tasmania and three in China. Grimshaw Architects and LDA Design have been appointed to create the first of these – a new ecological park near the port city of Qingdao on China’s east coast. Water sets the framework for Qingdao, and LDA Design and their ecology team will help to create wetlands, freshwater and salt lakes, swales, reed beds, rain gardens and beaches.
